Damselfly

What damselfly is this? I seem
To know her from a life before,
An easy time when less was more.

Her body shimmers in a beam
Of sunlight as she darts about
Between my footsteps, in and out.

She hovers near me for a while,
As ancient as the River Nile,
More fleeting than a summer day
Looked back upon from years away.
