Diminished by Our Differences

A grain of contention remains
After every issue has been
Tiresomely decided,
Which can only be dissolved
By ardent confirmation.

I would like to press the point
To its logical conclusion,
But meet with fell resistance.

As the need to quarrel evaporates,
I find myself discovering
The truth in what you say,
And I cannot help remembering
The void before you came.
