The Goat

The goat is so gregarious,
He seldom ever hesitates
To rough-and-tumble with his mates.

His antics are hilarious
Unless it's you he rudely bumps
With horns designed for butting rumps.

His features are quite saturnine;
In fact, his looks are downright weird—
All glassy eyes and scraggly beard.

The symbol of a stellar sign,
He is the soul of Capricorn
And spirit guide for those so born.

We love the goat for goat's milk cheese
And for his sturdy, stubborn knees.
As if that weren't enough, some goats
Supply us with warm mohair coats.

So debonair, so devil-may-care,
The goat will answer any dare.
