Le Hibou et La Poussiquette
Do you remember, Poussiquette, a time
Of following the stream where it would go?
And though we were considered in our prime,
Our separate days were spent in ebb and flow.
No mystery was ever made more clear
Than what the two of us were meant to share.
We very shortly were revealed no mere
Event, but something timeless, true, and fair.
The future is uncertain—were it not,
Our lives would be a game already played.
No chance of that in this uncharted land
Where winds blow sudden chill, then burning hot
And giant trees are from a seedling made.
Still hand in hand, we walk the twilight strand.
