Holiday

Time does not extend with time,
It passes as we watch it pass.
And so our best behaviour calls
For looking forward, not behind
To times gone past. On holiday,
We make each moment count
By counting nothing for a time;
Letting moments, hours, days go by
While we enjoy each other's company.
We smile and tell a bedtime story,
Sing a playful song or two,
Do something silly if we wish,
And call it all a holiday.
