How far today, how far can you run
Before your lungs complain, wishing
They were lying on the beach?
How long can you pump strong strokes
Of your legs, before they proclaim an amnesty,
Walking across the border?
How simple a song the steady back-and-forth
Of your arms, singing their unrelenting pride
In movement guided by a sense of style.
