Joseph the Journeyman

Joseph was a gentle man;
He fashioned houses
For the homeless.
Wherever souls were gathered
For rest and renovation,
Joseph would be there
To offer his assistance
In setting up a structure.
He was an incubator,
Providing just the right
Amount of warmth and light
For miracles to hatch.
Like any master craftsman,
He made his work seem easy,
Hiding backstage girders
From the eyes of his observers.
Most of all, he hid himself.
When his role was done,
He shunned the stage.
For himself he took no
Bows, no curtain calls,
No bright applause.
