Little Boy Blue

for Kaleo and Alice

Oh why do you cry so,
     Little Boy Blue,
Alone in your cozy, bright room?

I cry for the children
     Who have no home,
I cry for their sorrow and gloom.

And what would it take
     To bring forth a smile
On your face, your suffering face?

A day that is easy
     And free for all,
A day in which pain has no place.

I'll grant you your wish
     And may it come true,
Then a happier world we'll see.

For none will deny that
     This life we know
Is not the best life that could be.

For none will deny that
     This life we know
Is not the best life that could be.
