Lucky

My confidence is at its peak
     When victories come easily.
My spirit soars, it is not weak,
     No obstacles can hamper me.

This run of luck, like all the rest,
Is bright yet brief—it will not last.
While I'm the host, my luck's the guest
Who will depart ere night has passed.

The lesson to be learned from this?
     Embrace the world with levity.
Good luck is like a tender kiss,
     More tender for its brevity.
