The Medicament of Sleep

Sleep is not the antidote to everything, but it does
Bring a sense of well-being to those it welcomes.

In the morning light descending through the curtains,
With the birds engaged in spirited debate, nothing seems

So satisfying as a leisurely transition to the waking state.
With time enough to work and play, and ponder why

We came into this life, I'll take the hours I am given,
And remember that we all go back to our beginning.
