The Moth

An understated, overlooked
Relation of the butterfly,
The moth is by his nature shy.

But do not think his goose is cooked
Because he can't attract a mate;
He still somehow will land a date.

The product of his union must
Go through big changes, just as he
Survived each stage from A to Z.

Although he's cloaked in golden dust,
Our hero shuns the public eye
(Unlike the splashy butterfly).

Avoiding those who want to fight,
This moth prefers to fly by night.
A candle or a light bulb, though,
May prove to be his final foe.
