You come to us at night
When we are resting in our bed.
You bring your feline company,
Burrowing under the covers,
Curling up at our feet,
Licking our necks if we let you.
You are the guide we take on board
Before we hoist all sails
And set out on our dreaming voyage,
Leaving the port's receding lights behind.
When we reach the islands of delight,
You will be the first to leap ashore.
