Sunday Outing

We've made it this far,
Our family of three,
Far enough to push
Our baby in her stroller.

It's pleasant to be part
Of the parenting community,
To share sunshine and fresh air
With other mothers and fathers.

Before our daughter came,
I couldn't help feeling
Like a spectator that didn't belong,
A one-armed man without a song.

Now I have my wife
Beside me on this sunny day,
And in the stroller sleeping,
Our little girl too young to play.
