Tiger

Oh tiger, how you terrify,
With strength and speed surpassing all
Potential prey, both great and small.

And yet, beneath the sun's bright eye,
No finer sight is there to see
Than your unbridled majesty.

In colour, line, and shape supreme,
Your beauty is a bold display
Of sunlight on a darkened day.

At rest, you are a vivid dream
Of pure potential in reserve,
A silent storm along each nerve.

Released, you are a lightning bolt
Delivering a deadly jolt;
But in my heart of hearts, I know
No greater glory, friend or foe.
