Visitation 3 A.M.
This voice is booming, prodigiously grand,
Good-humoured and amused by life's demands.
It rocks me in the cradle of its resonance,
It puts to bed my cares with its smooth dance.
Rhythm can be restful, giving respite
From all the agitations of the night.
Souls are simple really, they crave a face
That's friendly, and passage to a safe place.
If we've travelled far, we feel we are at home
When greeted by a deep, embracing welcome.
A voice like this brings comfort to the ear
Of anyone who stops to truly hear.
