All in One Morning
Imagine my surprise when I woke up to find
Myself a man of forty-five,
Reasonably limber, agile of mind,
Still capable of sheer enthusiasm.
Very much at odds was I
With the one who crawled to bed
The night before.
I surveyed my situation and decided to assume
The attitude of youth—
Clusters of possibilities, pregnant with desire,
Rose up before my eyes.
