The Big Picture

The faces that I see each day
Remind me that variety
Is everywhere the guide and key.

Eternal, endless, living play
Conceives and re-creates all things,
From whiskered cats to Saturn's rings.

The human mind is limited
In just how much it can contain,
And all too often will refrain

From views of life unedited;
On variation we impose
A rigid grid of man-made rows.

In spite of this, our task is clear—
Engage the world with love, not fear.
Our faith, our trust, our very soul
Must be a work complete and whole.
