The Dancing Funambulist

A funambulist is one
Who dances on a tightrope
Flung across an abyss.

I would be that carefree man
Balanced on a tenuous strand
Separating earth and sky.

I'd wear a coat of many colours
And juggle golden globes
While spinning in the sun.

I shall endeavour to embody
Something of the kind,
As I dance along the line
Of my allotted earthly time.
