A Desperate Situation
Each animal's a melody
Composed in search of harmony.
Their songs should never end until
The universe itself is still.
The woolly mammoth had no clue
His days upon the frozen plain,
Once gone, would never come again.
The sabretooth, a tiger, grew
Extremely rare until her end,
With no one left to call a friend.
Like them, we are at risk today.
The world is changing very fast,
And much of what we love has passed.
Extinction has the final say—
Unlike a simple coughing fit,
There's no recovering from it.
