Halfway to the Hills
There is a road that leads halfway to the hills,
Inclining at a gentle slope, ruminating as it goes.
Trees relieve the scenery, evenly spaced
In rows of evergreen and pine.
No one knows how long a journey
It might be to reach the hills...
No one has pursued the path
Past the point at which the road stops suddenly.
