It Comes and Goes

I am a human being,
But being human
Is such a temporal thing.

Here in the shadowlands,
It's a bit of bluff and bravado
Combined with shortsighted
Temerity, to declare I am,
As if saying so implies finality.

Our momentary being
Comes and goes, and with it
All conjectures posed
About the brightlands,
Not constrained to shadows.
