Jumping Frog Jeff

Where is my friend Jeff?
The one who likes to talk about
The football games on television—
I saw him at the Laundromat
But that was quite a while ago.
He made an origami jumping frog
From a folded dollar bill
As a present for my daughter.
It must have been a year ago,
He was standing on a corner.
I waved and pulled over, giving
Him a ride home. Of the fellows
That I come across each day,
No one is as open or as friendly.
He's the most like Lou Costello
Of anyone I know, gentle and
Trusting, simply trusting.
