Never Was

What I want is in a time and place
Outside the realm of our familiar world.

Somewhere there are earnest knights
Who do not fight for pleasure.

Somewhere there are shady groves
Full of laughter and good cheer.

Somewhere there are constant loves
And hearts that beat as one.

What I want is a belief in goodness
And a life in realms of undivided glory.

My home is made of stars and elms,
My soul is flying through the clouds.

How else could my heart recall
A world it's never seen?
