The Peacock and Rhinoceros

One is armour-clad and practical,
     Stoutly skipping towards his goal.
The other is quite colourful,
Trading wit for depth of soul.

One is full of circumstance,
Desirous that his needs be known.
The other struts a fantail dance,
     Charming lovers for his own.

One will brook no argument,
     Standing firmly on his ground.
The other always wins consent,
     Boasting with a piercing sound.

Both are creatures of some fame,
     Separated by their style.
One is wild, the other's tame,
     Together they evoke a smile.
