Seating Arrangement at an Outdoor Café

The men sit with the men;
The women congregate.
The couples are apart—
They do not join their mate.

Oh why are we the same?
And yet we are confined
To socialise with those
Who look to be our kind.

No accident of birth
Can bring about a true
Communion of two minds;
At least that is my view.
